How to Find The Mossy Key Door Location in Ocean’s Heart

While exploring the Forest of Tides in Ocean’s Heart, Tilia will defeat a White Mandrake who drops a mysterious key. Here’s how to reach the door.

Ocean’s Heart is a 2D, pixel-art, top-down RPG that follows Tilia as she explores a beautiful archipelago, fights monsters and bad guys, solves puzzles, and gathers treasure. As players explore the islands, they will likely come across more than a few secrets. One such secret is a Mossy Key, found in the Forest of Tides area and dropped by a White Mandrake Tilia will need to fight. It is not immediately clear what the key opens, but it does register as a quest. Players will need to do a bit of exploring to figure it out.

The Mossy Key eventually leads to an abandoned house in the Forest of Tides that contains a puzzle. The reward for completing the puzzle and quest associated with this item drop is a bonus to armor, which can be very useful when fighting particularly difficult enemies in some of the ancient dungeons around the islands. Here’s how to find the door that requires the Mossy Key to open, and how to solve the puzzle to access the armor in Ocean’s Heart.

How To Find The Mossy Key Door In Ocean’s Heart

Players will pick up the Mossy Key on their way through the Forest of Tides as they head to Ballast Harbor. They will need to defeat the White Mandrake to get it. Once they have the Key and unlock the associated quest, they will need to head northeast until they reach a grove of trees and a treasure chest and crate. At this spot, they will need to turn slightly and head north.

Eventually, they will find an abandoned house with a locked door. Using the Mossy Key will unlock this door and allow Tilia entry to the shack.

Once inside, players will need to solve a puzzle that involves pushing crates. To solve the puzzle, push the crates in the following configuration:

Push the crate furthest to the left up
Push the crate next to the one furthest to the left right
Walk up the cleared path and push the crate in the center to the right

This should clear a path to the armor. Picking up the piece will add +1 Armor to Tilia and complete the questline associated with the Mossy Key.

There are more locked doors players can find as they explore the islands and dungeons of Ocean’s Heart. Another key comes from Lake Umber, and players can use this one to enter a building crawling with monsters and access 100 Crowns and another armor piece. Still another key can be found in the basement of the Ballast Harbor Inn, dropped by a drunken pirate. This key will lead to another treasure, a crafting item that can be used to upgrade weapons. Players should be sure to explore every corner of the world in Ocean’s Heart to uncover all its secrets.
