Star Wars Day 2024: Every Major Release Announced So Far

Star Wars Day 2024 promises to be one of the most exciting ever, blending with The Phantom Menace celebrations. Here’s everything to expect…
Star Wars Day 2024 is almost upon us, and here are all the confirmed releases – and the best deals as they’re announced. Since 2011, May 4th has become one of the most important days in the Star Wars calendar, with Disney and Lucasfilm celebrating it in style. It’s based on a pun that actually dates back to British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in 1979, when her Conservative Party celebrated an election win by posting an ad: “May the Fourth Be with You, Maggie.
This year’s Star Wars Day celebrations are more exciting than ever before. This is, after all, the 25th anniversary of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, meaning Lucasfilm and Disney are combining the annual event with something much more spectacular. Here are all the major announcements to date, on a post that will be updated with further information and all the best deals when they come out.
The Phantom Menace Re-Release & Skywalker Saga Marathon
Star Wars is returning to theaters
The Phantom Menace is being re-released in theaters as part of the movie’s 25th anniversary celebrations, giving viewers a chance to watch the epic on the big screen once again. Even more excitingly, this re-release will be accompanied by exclusive footage from The Acolyte, an upcoming Disney+ TV show that serves as something of a prequel to the prequels. But, as if that wasn’t enough, Lucasfilm has further confirmed this is part a Skywalker saga marathon.
Star Wars Day 2024 is the biggest celebration ever, with all nine instalments of the Skywalker saga returning to the big screen around May 4th. While The Phantom Menace is at the heart of this, it means theaters will be celebrating the entire saga, and audiences will be able to move from the prequels to the original trilogy, and then on to the sequels. This is an unmissable, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity

Tales of the Empire Releases on Disney+
The sequel to Tales of the Jedi
Lucasfilm recently released the trailer for Tales of the Empire, six animated shorts that will release on Disney+ on Star Wars Day 2024. Three of these episodes will focus on Ahsoka villain Morgan Elsbeth, shining new light on the Dathomiri witch’s backstory; another three will explore the story of Barriss Offee, a Jedi Padawan who betrayed the Order during the Clone Wars and looks set to become an Imperial Inquisitor. A sequel to the much-loved Tales of the Jedi, this should be unmissable viewing.
LEGO Star Wars BARC Speeder Escape
LEGO set number 75378
Releasing on May 4, LEGO’s BARC Speeder Escape set (75378) is inspired by a key flashback to Order 66 in The Mandalorian season 3. It comes with two 501st Legion clone troopers, Grogu, and the first ever minifigure of Jedi Master Kelleran Beq – a character played by Ahmed Best, better known as Jar Jar Binks in the prequels. This is sure to be one of the most exciting collectibles in May.
LEGO Star Wars Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator
LEGO set number 75383
Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator set is much more directly linked with The Phantom Menace. In continuity, this is a mysterious vessel originally designed by Darth Tenebrous, a Sith Lord who may actually appear in The Acolyte. The vehicle comes with a new Darth Maul minifigure, Qui-Gon Jinn with his Tatooine poncho, and young Anakin Skywalker. The set also comes with a bonus Saw Gerrera minifugre, celebrating the rebel freedom fighter from Rogue One and Andor.
The Sith Apprentice: Darth Maul Legacy Lightsaber Hilt and Collector’s Box Set
Available on the Disney Store website & at Disney Parks from May 4th
Disney has officially announced a new Darth Maul lightsaber replica, available exclusively from the Disney Store website and at Disney Parks from May 4. The hilt includes sound effects and will glow red when attached to two lightsaber blades (sold separately). It even has a button to trigger the music from “Duel of the Fates.”

Although there are many other products releasing this year as part of The Phantom Menace‘s 25th anniversary celebrations, these are the ones associated with Star Wars Day itself. That said, there will no doubt be more – there are already rumors of more LEGO sets. What’s more, there will be further deals on the day itself. This article will be updated with all the major announcements and best deals.
