Daredevil: Born Again Earns Its R-Rating As New Set Video Shows Brutal Punisher Scene

A new MCU hero in Daredevil: Born Again may already be doomed as a new set video teases a potentially deadly battle with Jon Bernthal’s Punisher.

Jon Bernthal’s Punisher makes his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe through a new Daredevil. Born Again set video that foreshadows a major storyline going down. The Daredevil: Born Again cast has been busy shooting the new Disney+ show, as Matt Murdock is getting ready to headline his own project again. However, one of the big mysteries in the MCU drama is the return of Bernthal as Frank Castle, a.k.a. The Punisher, who has been absent from most of the public shoots until very recently.

In a new Daredevil: Born Again set video from @PunisherFanatic, audiences get their first proper look at Bernthal’s return as The Punisher. The video shows the antihero sneaking up on the MCU’s new costumed hero, who is believed to be the White Tiger, with Castle sneaking around the corner and seemingly shooting and killing the new character. While there is no audio available in this specific set video, Frank quickly leaves the scene as White Tiger remains on the ground.

With this being a significant Daredevil: Born Again update, it begs the question of why Punisher would go after White Tiger, as well as kill him. While there is little context to go with, Daredevil: Born Again could be setting up a clash between various vigilantes in New York. To this point, White Tiger had only been spotted taking part in a fight inside Midtown West Gourmet in late January, which is believed to be from one of the early episodes.

It’s possible that whatever episode they are shooting right now of Daredevil: Born Again season 1, perhaps a major conflict has come to light between White Tiger and Punisher. There could be a scenario where White Tiger is maybe a rival to Daredevil, Punisher, or both of them, and Frank chooses to take him out. Even though White Tiger is a hero in Marvel lore, Daredevil: Born Again may take the MCU iteration in a different direction that directly sets up a war between him and the Punisher.

Even though it appears that Punisher may have killed him in the video, dead doesn’t always mean dead in the MCU. With White Tiger having powerful amulets in the comics, Frank may have only taken him out temporarily. But for now, the world will have to wait and see what is actually happening with Punisher’s storyline on Daredevil: Born Again and whether or not this is the last they have seen of White Tiger.
